Grassroots Rugby in Likoni & Our Altofts Connection
Founded by Dennis Gem, Rugby Gem is a grassroots sports initiative dedicated to spreading, developing, and nurturing youth rugby across primary schools, secondary schools, orphanages, and local neighbourhoods along Kenya's coastal belt.
Our link to West Yorkshire runs deep: over the years, local families and clubs right here in Altofts have welcomed players from Kenya into our community. We are immensely proud of individual players including Tim, Felix, David, and Dominic, who came over to live in the village, train, and compete across the local rugby pyramid.
Sponsoring this year's Scarecrow Festival is our way of saying an enormous thank you to Altofts for opening its doors and supporting these young athletes as they develop their sporting pathways.
